About Gui
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Gui is a passionate ceramicist who reconnects with the ancient art of Nerikomi to create functional tabletop objects. His journey with ceramics began at the age of 14, but was interrupted for several years. Recently, he rediscovered pottery as a means to meditate and find his authentic creative voice.
Gui’s process is deeply reflective, with each piece emerging from a thoughtful exploration of color and design. He selects natural clays and mason stains, carefully considering the palette before shaping and molding the clay into unique, marbled creations.
Currently, Gui specializes in dinnerware and functional objects, aiming to evoke a sense of spontaneous joy through his work. As a graduate student counselor, Gui is passionate about integrating expressive arts into clinically informed therapy. All proceeds from his ceramic creations support his education and his long-term goal of using clay as a therapeutic tool, helping others learn about themselves.
